Airport - The nearest airport to Hakone is in Tokyo - Tokyo International Airport(IATA: HND, ICAO: RJTT). The fastest and most expensive method of reaching Hakone from Tokyo is to take a Tokaido Shinkansen Kodama train from Tokyo to Odawara, then transfer to the Hakone-Tozan Line for the run to Hakone-Yumoto (trains operated by Odakyu Railway). The affordable method of reaching Hakone from Tokyo is to take the Odakyu Odawara Line from Shinjuku station. • Yakushiji Otobutai Sound Stage - A spellbinding mix of history, drama and ethereal music (Hakone) - When I walked into the temple grounds of Yakushiji in Nara, I heard crickets chirp in the dense thicket of autumn grasses around two pagodas silhouetted against the twilight sky. A large, excited crowd was gathering , and yet a solemn serenity enveloped the whole temple.
  • Tokyo Tour Grand Full Day (Hakone) - 1. Tokyo Tower (Admission fee included) - Enjoy a panorama of Tokyo from the observation platform.
  • Early Morning At Tsukiji Fish Market (Hakone) - It's 4 am and Tsukiji fish market is humming with activity. Workers shout and shuffle styrofoam boxes of fish, and dodge nimbly as electric scooter trucks whiz past.
  • Discovering Tokyo from an open-top tour bus (Hakone) - Regardless of whether you are visiting Tokyo for pleasure or on business, or a long-term resident, the Skybus Tokyo, Japan's first open-top double-decker tour bus, is highly recommended. This sightseeing bus, recently launched by Hinomaru Limousine, has 45 seats and drives all the way around the central districts of the city, giving riders an unobstructed view of the Imperial Palace, the Otemachi financial center, the Diet Building and government district, Ginza and Nihombashi.
  • The ancient ritual of Yabusame (Hakone) - "Yabusame," or mounted archery, is an exciting spectacle that has been practiced for over a thousand years in Japan. Hooves thunder, arrows whistle and find their target with a "thok.
  • Obi, a Remnant of Old Japan (Hakone) - Traveling down the Nichinan Coast from Miyazaki on Kyushu's eastern shore, it's the surf town of Aoshima that gets most of the attention. The weekend surfers and beach bunnies   who descend on the town's beaches, rock piles and amusement arcades rarely seem to feel the need to go further down the coast to explore its stunning cliff formations, rustic villages, or the oddly neglected historical town of Obi.
  • Tokyo Tour Afternoon (Hakone) - 1. Ginza Shopping District (Drive through) - Drive through world famous Ginza shopping district.
  • World Cultural Heritage - Nikko (Hakone) - As a destination for travelers, Nikko has been on the map for quite awhile -- 1,222 years to be exact, since 782 AD, when the area's first temple was founded by the priest Shodo. In the 17th century the sacred and lovely place was chosen as the site for a grand Shinto shrine to house the remains of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate which ruled Japan for 260 years.
