Shopping - Clothing is expensive unless buying knock-offs at Baraholka. Green Market is generally expensive. Ramstor is a large, modern, high profile hypermarket on Furmanov. It is REALLY expensive compared to other stores. Buy in smaller local shops, or Baraholka, to save on costs. If money is not a problem, LOTS of over the top European designers have stores on almost every street throughout Almaty.
